I’ve just had this song stuck in my head…don’t you love when you accidentally carry a bolder and italicized font off a page when you cut and paste? Such a breath of fresh air compared to the boring no choice text of a non premium account.

Old Friends
by Paul Simon
(c) 1968 Paul Simon (BMI)

Old friends,
Old friends,
Sat on their park bench
Like bookends.
A newspaper blown through the grass
Falls on the round toes
On the high shoes Of the old friends.

Old friends,
Winter companions,
The old men
Lost in their overcoats,
Waiting for the sunset.
The sounds of the city,
Sifting through trees,
Settle like dust
On the shoulders
Of the old friends

Can you imagine us
Years from today,
Sharing a park bench quietly?
How terribly strange
To be seventy.

Old friends,
Memory brushes the same years.
Silently sharing the same fears. . . .

(and then my version says…)

A time it was, oh what a time it was, it was/a time of innocence, a time of confidences/long ago, it must be, I have a photograph/preserve your memories, they’re all that’s left you.

  2. Mmmm, beautiful! I love it!
    By the way…
You can change the font on your Xanga without going premium. All you have to do is open whatever you have on your computer for writing papers…Windows, Microsoft Word, Frontpage, etc. then select the font you wish to use and type it on Windows, Microsoft Word, Frontpage, etc. Now highlight it and cut and paste it to your Xanga New weblog entry section. Voila! You can have any font that is on your computer! I have found lots of little tricks for stuff. I don’t pay for premium on my site either. I just have found sneaky ways to get around it. LOL. : )
